APRIL 10, 2011 MEETINGS

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on February 13th, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on October 9th 2011.  

  • The Pig roast was discussed and decided to do something different other than a hog roast. The officers will get together and discuss options.
  • June 4 is the Fireman�s golf outing with a 1:00 o'clock start time, contact Brad Fisher for any information
  • Thanks to the dozen people that helped with ditch clean-up.  It is greatly appreciated.
  • Bike path walked is scheduled for sat May 21st , start time of 10am.  It is to take off from the area by shingle shack.  Proceeds to go to Save the Lake fund.  (Cancelled)
  •  Montezuma trash day is sat April 16th
  • Sat April 30th is the Lake clean up day.   For those interested in helping you can conact Brian Miller or Brad Fisher.   The meeting will be held Friday night April 29th at 6:00pm at the fire dept (St Marys by Rustic) . Any volunteers and boats would be greatly appreciated.
  • Bowling Frenzy is scheduled for March 3, 2012 at St Marys Varsity Lanes, DJ also booked.  Polar plunge at the moose in Celina  2012 is also March 3rd.
  • Park bench idea was discussed and due to high cost we will not be doing this.  We will look into other options.
  • Boat Bayou for 2011 is scheduled for Sat July 9th with meeting time at 5:00pm, at the Chickasaw Bay.  Bring own munchies and drinks.

February 13th, 2011 MINUTES

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on December 12th, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on April 10th 2011.  

         Grand Lake Recreation members helped deliver 172- 180 Christmas.  Those helping gave stories of how appreciative the recipients were.  Special Thanks to those that helped

         A �Save the Lake� bike path walk was discussed again and will be finalized at the April meeting.  Tom Gottschall spoke with the Franklin Township and they want no trash cans because people export their trash.  However benches would be greatly appreciated.  The benches must be to their specks and would cost approximately $900 each.

         Member Update:  George Caupp has had surgery to remove a melanoma and was said to be doing well.

         Denny Liette reported the bowling Grand Lake Bowling Frenzy will be March 5th.  There will be a DJ.  We will be responsible for half the cost. ($75)  It looks like we will have a sell out and better turn out than we had last year.  It will be held at Varsity Lanes in St. Marys.  Any help with door prizes will be greatly appreciated.

         Brad Fisher gave a Safety report in regards to the 2 snowmobilers that drove into the lake last month.  Chuck Finley and Mike Muntzinger also shared stories they had with the ice.

         Brad Fisher will be plunging in the Moose�s Special Olympics� �Polar Plunge.�  A motion was made by Jason Platner and 2nd by Jamie Bubp and passed to sponsor Brad for $100.

December 12th, 2010 MINUTES

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on October 10th, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on February 13th 2011.  

         The new camo colored coolies (with bright orange or hot pink lettering) is now available.

         Grand Lake Recreation once again helped with the delivery of Christmas baskets on December 22nd.  A full report will be given at the February meeting.

         SHIRLEY�S AUCTION at Shockers was held November 19th.  Over $5000 was raised for charity.  A scholarship will also be set up in Shirley�s name to a needy family.

         A �Save the Lake� bike path walk was discussed for next year.  Tom Gottschall will attend the next Franklin Township meeting.  He will give a full report at the next meeting and more plans will be discussed at the February meeting.

         Member Update:  Wayne Craig is back to work and doing well.  George Caupp has been diagnosed with cancer and a card will be sent to him.  Please keep him your thoughts and prayers

         Denny Liette will be checking into prices to have the Bowling Outing for this year.

         There was no 50/50 or Club Drawing since it was the Christmas party meeting

         Fried chicken from McSobers along with all the carry-ins by the members.  After eating everyone enjoyed the excitement of the Christmas Drawing!

October 10th, 2010 MINUTES                                                                                                                                                      

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on April 18th, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on December 12th.         23 Members present

   It was decided to order more coolies since almost all our other coolies were sold.  We will try camo colored with bright orange lettering or hot pink from Dawg Town.  Nina McDaniel needs to be commended for her efforts in selling them at Rustic Haven. 

   It was discussed and passed that the club will no longer furnish alcoholic beverages at any of the functions but will take that money and donate it to a cause.  Jeff Snellenberger made the motion and Peggy Gottschall 2nd.  Soft drinks will be furnished.

   The soft ice ride was held October 25th starting at Bay View.

   The CHILLI COOK will be held on November 13th at Rich & Angie Leis�s home.  They will start the chili at Noon and serve at 5:00PM -- PLEASE BRING a COVERED DISH & BYOB.  Soft drinks will be furnished.

   Rocky Branson�s Fish Fry for the club, which was held on Sept. 11th at Tom Gottschall�s garage in Bass Landing, and was a great success.  Approximately 40 people enjoyed the delicious fish prepared by Rocky & Co.

  Rich Leis reported that Lou Cook from the OSSA again reported we could not be club member only snowmobilers.  The members passed either whole club or none.

  Do to the past problems with the ATV Poker Runs the club decided to exclude this from our activities. 

  A �Save the Lake� bike path walk was discussed for next year.  Many ideas were brought up to make this outing exciting.  More will be discussed at the February meeting.  It was also proposed to put trash cans along the bike path with a donated by sign from the club.  Also Tom Gottschall will be checking into benches along the path with the Franklin TWP.

  Wayne Craig update:  He sustained a broken wrist and a concussion from an ATV accident.  He was in intensive care for about 1 week, moved to Heritage Manor in Minster, OH and now is at home.  He still has some healing to do but is doing well.

  SHIRLEY�S AUCTION at Shockers will be held November 19th at 7:00 pm.  You may bring any donations now until the auction to Shockers.  All proceeds will go to the following charities:  Foster Kids, Harbor House, and Eagle�s Christmas Baskets.  Michelle hopes to give $500 to each charity.

  Grand Lake Recreation will help with the delivery of Christmas baskets again.  Further information will be at the Christmas meeting on Dec. 12th.

  It was decided to draw until there is a winner at each meeting for the club drawing of $10.  You must be a paid current member & present to win.

April 18TH, 2010 MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on March 14th, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on October 10th. 

              23 Members present

              It was decided to order shirts and cozies locally from Dawg Town.  Nina McDaniel will sell them at Rustic Haven.  We will order 500 cozies and sell them for $2.00.  Profits again will go to �Save the Lake�

              Due to needing a license to have a Poker Tournament this venture has been put off  until a later date.

              Rocky Branson offered to have a Fish Fry for the club, which will be set for Sept. 11th at Bass Landing.  The club will furnish condiments.  BYOB � no covered dishes required just a Fishy Appetite!

              It was decided to have fewer meeting and more activities for next year.  Meetings will be held in October, December, February & April at the Sportsman�s Club @ 2:00PM.

MARCH 14TH, 2010 MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  President, Rich Leis brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on JANUARY 11, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on APRIL 18. 

        Brian Miller was present and gave a very informative report on the plans for improving the lake quality. The newest project includes sediment removal from three feeder creeks and placement of two large aeration units in two separate embayments.  They are committed to moving this project forward during spring and are actively seeking funding sources from local dollars.  Wright State will be monitoring the quality around the test areas.  2 Airy Gators will provide a way to dramatically increase the dissolved oxygen and circulation.  3 Collector Systems will allow the energy of the stream to move bedload sediment up the collector�s ramp and into a hopper.  Once the hopper is full, the sediment is pumped to a disposal site.  More info is on our Web site www.grandlakerec.org. 

        A motion was made by Peggy Gottschall to donate $1000 to the �Save the Lake� Fund.  Brad Fisher 2nd.  The motion was voted upon and past.

        Jane gave a report on the Bowling Frenzy (February 27th at Plaza Lanes) 46 Bowlers had a great time and after expenses the club made $166.00.

        Denny Liette is going to check into a location for a Poker Tournament.

        2010 Elections of Officers were voted upon.

        Jane Snellenberger served Spaghetti to the members and food will come from Duck Foot for the April 18th meeting.

FEBRUARY 14TH, 2010 MINUTES

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  24 members were present.  Do to the absence of the President and Treasure, Former President, Tom Gottschall brought the meeting to order and gave the Treasures report.  The minutes were read from the meeting held on JANUARY 11, both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on MARCH 14. 

        Cards will be sent to sick members in the club.

        The Charity Issue will be finalized and voted on at the next meeting.  The Yamaha jacket & boots were donated to the Scott Sattler Benefit. 

        Election of Officers will take place at the next meeting on March 14th.

        Ditch Clean-up Dates:  April 18 @ Noon;  June 13 @ 11:00;  August 15 @ 11:00;  October 10th @ Noon

        Tom Gottschall gave a little history on the club�s past accomplishments to the members present.

        Snowmobile conditions were reported Not Good.

        Suggestions were made by Tom Gottschall to have meetings in October, December, February and April and to add more Club functions.

        Jane gave a report on the upcoming Bowling Frenzy (February 27th at Plaza Lanes)

        Jeff Snellenberger reported the date for the golf outing this year will be June 19 @ 12:30.

        March 26 & 27th is the �Race the Face� on Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek.  Brad Fisher will be defending his win of 2009.  Good Luck Brad!!!  Info on the web site.

        The Club drawing worth $20 was Denny Liette (Unpaid) � March�s drawing will be $30.  The 50/50 drawing ($42) went to Denny Liette.

 JANUARY 11, 2010 MINUTES

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on DECEMBER 13TH, 2009 were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on FEBRUARY 14, 2010. 

        Angie Leis reported 120-125 baskets were delivered for the Celina American Legion held on December 20th.  Rich also added that it gives the club recognition for doing Good in the area.  Again--Special THANKS to all that helped this year.

        The club purchased a 1979 SKI-Doo Citation (300cc twin) to raffle.  Tickets were sold profiting the club approximately $100.  The drawing was held at the meeting with the winning ticket being drawn by little Luke Ruane.  The winner was April VanCleve.

        Peg Gottschall reported she had contacted the Food Pantry for info as to the charity the club may donate to.  Jane brought up a local family the father has cancer and has 3 small children and was in need.  Anyone with suggestions can contact Peg.

        A few of the members present gave reports on snow conditions and trips made. 

        Safety Report:  Several sleds went thru the ice and into the water at Indian Lake.  Members were warned to be careful on unsafe Lake ice.

        Member, Jamie Bubp & family, were not present at the meeting because there 9 year old son, Carter, was racing at a Snow Cross race in Michigan.  Good Luck Carter!  A picture message was received with Carter & a trophy.

        Jane reported an email had been received that MSA had cancelled their
Super Raffle and were selling shirts for their fundraiser.

        A suggestion was made to have more member functions and fewer meetings.  Jane suggested a bowling night.  Other suggestions were a Card night, and a wild game or fish fry.  The members present, all agreed this was a good idea and would get more members involved.  Jane will be planning a bowling night on February 27th.

        March 14th will be the club election meeting. 

        March 26 & 27th is the �Race the Face� on Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek.  Brad Fisher will be defending his win of 2009.  Good Luck Brad!!!  Info on the web site.

        Birthdays, Anniversaries and important dates were recognized. 

        The Club drawing worth $10 was Wayne Bruering (NP) � February�s drawing will be $20.  The 50/50 drawing ($25) went to Steve Zimmerman.

DECEMBER 13, 2009 MINUTES

The Christmas meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club on December 13th, 2009.  The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on NOVEMBER 8TH were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on JANUARY 17, 2010. 

        The Christmas Basket Delivery for Celina American Legion will be on December 19th to fill baskets and delivery will be on Sunday the 20th.  There will be approximately 107 boxes to fill and be delivered.  Special THANKS to all that helped this year.

        The club purchased a 1979 SKI-Doo Citation (300cc twin) to raffle.  Tickets will be $5.00 each.  Please help support the club and sell these tickets.  Hopefully we can draw the winning ticket in January or February.

        A reminder that we have a link to LIA on our web site to keep updated in regards to improvement of the lake water quality.

        The OSSA gave us the rules for club membership.  All Snowmobile members need to become OSSA members for us to become a club member.  They want to keep accurate records on snowmobile activity in the state.

        Peg Gottschall will chair a committee to determine a charity the club can donate to.  Anyone with suggestions can contact Peg.

        CHRISTMAS DRAWING:  13 presents were won with the top $100 bill going to Bob Delaet.  Thanks again Tom Gottschall for putting this together and any club members donating gifts.  The full list of winners will be on the web site. www.grandlakerec.org.

        Birthdays, Anniversaries and important dates were recognized. 

        The Club drawing worth $40 was Jamie Bubp � January�s drawing will be $10.  There was no 50/50 drawing because of the Christmas Drawing.

NOVEMBER 8TH, 2009 MINUTES

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    

The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on OCTOBER 11TH were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on DECEMBER 13TH. 

        SOFT ICE RIDE: 3 Boats left from BayView with about 20 passengers.  Fun was had by all attending.

        The Chilli Cook was held on November 14th at Rich and Angie Leis�s. Board members from the OSSA will be there.  Our club can become a club member if all snowmobile members

become individual members.  They brought tickets for their drawing and the sled that is to be raffled off from the tickets.

        This year Christmas Basket Delivery for Celina American legion needs volunteer services.  Time and date will be given at the Christmas meeting.

        The Club Snowmobile trip for 2010.  Nothing has been set up, but members should bring info to next meeting for different locations. 

        Members reported finding some good deals at the Snow Show.

        CHRISTMAS DRAWING:  back by popular demand!  All gifts must have a MINIMUM Value of $20.00.  The club will furnish Ham and all members should bring a covered dish to the meeting.

        Tom Gottschall reported that again they went on their stump search and 10 stumps were marked in front of Duckfoot and more in front of the Wooden Eagle. 

Craig Morton reports Stump removal continues on the south side of the lake, heading east. More than forty stumps and an equal number of logs have been collected thus far. 

        Eileen Caup reported -- LIA meeting had a guest speaker Milt Baker, CEO of Blue Water Satellite, Inc. of Bowling Green, Ohio, who presented an informative view of satellite imaging

with the objective of helping protect the world�s water supply.   The EPA has requested that our watershed be scanned in an effort to determine the source of the excessive phosphorus in the lake.

OCTOBER 11,2009 MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on SEPTEMBER 13TH were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on NOVEMBER 8TH. 

        Tom Gottschall informed the club that member Dick Mosier was still not feeling well. 

        After discussion it was decided to have 1 Poker Run in the Spring and keep the stops to the South side of the Lake and nearby businesses.  A winter Snowmobile Poker Run was discussed and will happen if the lake freezes.

        Brad Fisher (Safety Director) gave a report on importance of wearing safety clothing when doing Ditch cleanup.

        Amy Bubp reminded club of OSU fundraiser (Tailgate for Cancer) Sat. October 14th at the Eagles in St. Marys.

        Fatty (Jason Platner) discussed the idea of all club members becoming members of the LIA.  The membership is $10 per year per family. 

We will have membership forms at the meetings for anyone interested.

        OSSA membership � Lew Cook may come to the Chilli cook to answer any questions regarding our membership.  OSSA  would like

individual memberships instead of Club memberships.

        The Chilli Cook will be November 14th at Rich and Angie Leis�s.

        It was reported that Van Wert county is putting in a 4-wheeler trail system.  Rich Leis will call and check on this and give info at next meeting.

        Michigan trail permits will increase to $35 this year.  MSA pays law enforcement.

        This year Christmas Basket Delivery for Celina American legion needs volunteer services.  They will contact us and let us know time and date.

        The members were made aware that Yamaha corp. is improving the quality of their hand warmers on their New sleds to speed up the heat response.

        The Club Snowmobile trip for 2010.  Nothing has been set up, but members should bring info to next meeting for different locations. 

Suggestions to check into were:  Northern Air Cabins in Waters, Mich & Gaylord Inn/ America�s Best Value Inn.  Other suggestions were:

Marsh Ridge, Tree Tops and Heart Lake.  A sign-up sheet will be at the Chilli Cook for anyone interested in going.

        SOFT ICE RIDE:  Boats will leave BayView @ 7:00pm.  October 24th.

        NOVI SHOW is November 5-7th

SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2009 MEETING MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club. 

The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting

held on April 19th were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on October 11th. 

        Tom Gottschall informed the club that member Dick Mosier was ill.  We will send him a card and wish him a

speedy recovery.  Tom will keep us informed on his condition.

        Jeff Snellenberger gave a report on the Golf Outing that was held with the annual Hog Roast.  He reported the

club profited $1000 from the outing which was held at the Fox�s Den.  Recognition was given to the beer girls

(Molly & Darcy and Juice & Belinda) for making the club $150 in beer sales that day.  Also helping with the outing

were Toots Sherrick and Larry Clutter.  Special Thanks to Jeff for a job well done.

        The last TRASH PICK-UP will be held October 11th before the meeting at Noon.

        The Fall Poker Run had approximately 34 participants.  After discussion it was decided to keep the stops to the

South side of the Lake and nearby businesses.  A winter Snowmobile Poker Run was discussed and will happen

 if the lake freezes.

        Tom Gottschall suggested the club should have a Safety Director and nominated Brad Fisher. 

The vote was unanimous.

        The Chilli Cook will be November 14th at Rich and Angie Leis�s.

        SOFT ICE RIDE will be October 24th.  More info will be at the next meeting.

        2010 DATES:  HOG ROAST � JUNE 26TH    CORN ROAST � AUGUST 21ST.

        NOVI SHOW is November 5-7th

APRIL 19TH, 2009 MEETING MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis.    The minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on March 8th were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on September 13 th. 

 

        The ATV Poker Run will be held on May 16th.  It will start at Shockers, formerly Shirley�s.  There will be 16 stops.  Anyone driving a legal vehicle may participate.   There will be 8 stops by land and 8 that can be reached by water.  Forming the committee will be Tom Gottschall, Brad Fisher, Jason Platner, and Rich Leis.

         Brian Miller from the LIA gave a report on safety and rules that needed to be followed on the Poker Run.

v   Stay off Bike Path�anyone on Bike path will be disqualified.

        Jeff Snellenberger gave a report on the upcoming Golf Outing to be held with the annual Hog Roast.  The outing will be held at the Fox�s Den.  It will be a Shot Gun start at 12:00 Noon and we will eat at 6:00pm.  There will be a putting contest prior to the outing and a long drive hole along with a �Tin Cup Hole�.  Skirts can be purchased along with Mulligans.

        Thanks to all who helped at the 1st TRASH PICK-UP.

        It was suggested for all members to join the LIA to help support Lake clean-up and show support from our club.

        Pam Riesen informed the club that Dick Schumn had passed away.  He was a long time member of the Grand Lake SnowDreamers.  It also was reported that Gene Heitkamp was ill.  (Gene passed away on April 29th)

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was brought to order by Vice President Ed Waldman due to the absence of President Rich Leis and the minutes and Treasurer�s Report from the meeting held on February 8th were read and both were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on April 19th a week later due to the Easter Holiday. 

 

        The ATV Poker Run will be discussed and planned at the April 19th meeting.

         A date was set for the Bayou Bash.  It will be held on July 18th.

        Jeff Snellenberger gave a report on the upcoming Golf Outing to be held with the annual Hog Roast.  The outing will be held at the Fox�s Den this year due to 3 prior bookings at Northmoor and Fox�s Den came down on their price.  It will be a Shot Gun start at 12:00 Noon and we will eat at 6:00pm.  Postcards will be sent out to all paid members prior to the event.  The date for the Hog Roast and Golf Outing will be June 27th.

        The Corn Roast & Chicken Cook will be August 22.

        The 1st TRASH PICK-UP WILL BE APRIL 19TH AT NOON prior to the meeting.

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  A total of 30 members were present. The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis and the minutes from the meeting held on January 18th meeting were read and were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on March 8th. 

Discussions:

        The March 8th meeting will be our annual elections meeting.

        Poker Run on February 7th was cancelled due to the weather.  An ATV Poker Run will be discussed at the next meeting.

         The price of Michigan Trail permits was discussed.  Rich informed the members that permits are going up next year.

        Keep member Larry Clutter in your thoughts and prayers. 

        It was reported that Toots DID NOT see her shadow while doing snow angels on her birthday (Feb. 2nd)

JANUARY 18TH, 2009 MEETING MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club with 12 members riding their snowmobiles to the meeting. 

A total of 33 members were present. The meeting was brought to order by President Rich Leis and the minutes from the meeting held on

December 14th meeting were read and were approved as read.  The next meeting will be held on February 8th. 

Discussions:

        The Club snowmobile trip to Ray�s Resort Gaylord will be January 25th.  Angie Leis reported that the lodge was just about full with

only 2 rooms left.

        Eileen Caupp said her brother was doing very well after his by-pass surgery.

        Thanks to all club members who helped with American Legion basket deliveries.  The pictures are on the web site along with all the

fun from Christmas meeting.

        The club decided to try and have a Poker Run on February 7th weather permitting.  It will start at Duck Foot.  Registration will be

from 10-1 and back by 5.  There will be a $10 entry fee with 50% payback.  Along with a 50/50 drawing, there will be door prizes

which will be collected by a committee set up Tom Gottschall.  Michelle, representing Duck Foot, will have a DJ and food after the Poker Run. 

Flyers will be run off and distributed closer to the date when we have a better knowledge of the lake depth and weather forecast.

        Anyone with info or pictures from their past trips bring them to share with the club members at the next meeting or on the web site.

DECEMBER 14TH, 2008 MEETING MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club and was brought to order by President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the meeting held on November 9th meeting were read and both were approved as read.

The next meeting will be held on the 3rd Sunday of January due to a prior schedule of the Club trip to Houghton Lake. January 18th.

        Club snowmobile trip to Ray�s Resort Gaylord will be January 25th.  There are a few rooms left during the week.  For Reservations Call: 989.732.4914.  All information is on the web site along with info to park your trailer at Waters, Mich.

        President Rich Leis reported that he did a trial run at Ray�s Resort and it checked out to be a great place to stay.  He also reported that if anyone needed repairs, precision Motor Sports & Marine was very helpful.  They are located off old 27, 1 � miles.  Also in the UP it was reported Hunt & Fish in Curtis were helpful.  There will be a link to these sites on our web site.

        It was reported Larry Allen, member Eileen Caupp�s brother had quadruple by-pass surgery and was doing well.

        Deb Bornett & Betty Wireman from the Celina American Legion Auxillary were present to give a report on the annual Christmas baskets that needed to be delivered.  On December 21st approximately 50 baskets were delivered by some of our club members.  Thanks to all club members who helped.  The baskets were donated by local business�s in the area.

        Birthdays, Anniversaries and important dates were printed off the web site and recognized.  SPECIAL NOTE-CONGRATS to Mildred & Bob Bollenbacher celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary and Tom Gottschall reaching his 65th Birthday.

        The Club drawing name was Steve Henkle and he was not present.  The $40 will carry over to the next meeting to $50.

        There was no 50/50 drawing because we then continued to the Christmas drawing.

        The next meeting will be January 18th, 2009 @ 2:00pm at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club.  The meeting was adjourned by a motion by Jason Platner and 2nd by Brad Fisher.

        Tom Gottschall was awarded a few Birthday presents and cards and then the club members enjoyed Ham furnished by the club and many covered dishes furnished by members.

NOVEMBER 9TH, 2008 MEETING MINUTES

        The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club and was brought to order

by President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer's report and the minutes from the meeting held on October 12th

were read and both were approved as read.

        The Chili cook was held the night before on the 8th and was enjoyed by a crowd of over 70. 

The apple pie made by Ed Waldman was auctioned off and a great success.  This made the club over $200.  Thanks Ed! 

We also want to the Thank Rich and Angie Leis for hosting the chili cook.  The video pictures on the web site were taken by Angie. 

Thanks Guys! 

Word has it Jamie Bubp was the star in the video.

 

 A Safety page has been added to the web site.  Dennis Stolzenburg has submitted 2 articles and videos. 

Anyone with any articles submit them to Jane. 

 

It was decided to again have ham for the meat at the upcoming Christmas meeting.  December 14th @ 2:00. 

Please bring a covered dish.  There will be the annual Christmas drawing.  Anyone donating gifts to the drawing

The Soft Ice Ride held October 25th met at Bay View and  3 boats of people had a good time..

September 14th, 2008        

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation club was held at the South Shore Sportsman's club was brought to order by Vice President, Ed Waldman. 

The Treasurer's report and the minutes from the April 13th meeting were read and approved.  A new member, Jason Schmiel , was welcomed to the club.

 

Ed Waldman reported all summer functions went well.  The ATV poker run in May had approximately 50 entries & everyone had a good time with no problems.

Special thanks to Rich & Angie Leis and Tom Scheib and anyone else that made it so successful.

 

The hog roast & golf outing was also very successful.  We had 14 teams play golf and approximately 75 people at the hog roast. 

Thanks to Jeff, Chuck, Rick, Tom Gottschall and Tom Scheib for a successful event.

 

It rained all day before the Bayou Bash and that kept away all the fair weather boaters.  5 pontoons showed up and they all had a good time. 

Peg Gottshall fixed left over pork from the hog roast for sandwiches.  Thanks Peg.

 

The corn roast also went very well.  Ed cooked 100 half chickens and they were delicious.  The corn was great.  Brian "B" Bollenbacher won the

croquet tournament which lasted past dark.  They finished it off using car headlights.

 

The DITCH CLEANUPS need more helpers.  Only 4 or 5 members are showing up.  The next clean-up is October 12th before the meeting. 

Clean-up meets at Noon.

 

The Soft Ice Ride will be Saturday, October 25th.  Meet at BayView at 7:00pm.

 

President Rich Leis has volunteered to have the Chilli Cook again at his barn on Saturday, November 8th. 

More details will be discussed at the October meeting.

 

Buzz Goodwin's Swap meet at BayView marina will be October 25  & 26th.  It's a good chance to buy or sell.

 

The Novi Snow Show will be Oct. 31, Nov 1st & 2nd.

 

Gene Leis had a discussion and brought information about a possible club snowmobile trip to Ray's Resort (formerly the Northland Inn)

on old 27, south of Gaylord.  More info to sign up will be at the October meeting or check the web site.

REPORTS GIVEN:

  • Ditch clean up was rescheduled to May 4th @ 11:00am.  Thanks to all that help!
  • April Birthdays and anniversaries were announced
  • ATV poker-run will be held on May 17, 2008. sign in from 10am to 11:30am  and time to be back will be 5pm.

         The starting and ending place will be at Rustic Haven with 9 stops.

         The Southside shuttle is reporting as working well.  Please use the facility and be safe.  The schedule is in the �Steppin Out� paper.

     THANKS to all who have renewed and paid their annual membership.  If you still haven�t sent your membership in please do so today

not to miss out on any further newsletters or Fun this summer.  Your membership needs to be paid to attend the summer functions.

We discussed the shuttle that runs to 8 different location thru out coldwater and Montezuma . It is $10.00 a person and has a time schedule, you can pick up schedules at the local establishments that are participating

            The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the meeting held on January 20th were read and both were approved as read. 

          The club welcomed the new members Luke Ruane and his wife to Amy to the club.

REPORTS GIVEN:

The ATV Poker run will be discussed and begin planning at the meeting on March 9th.

Jeff Snellenberger reported on 2 locations for a possible snowmobile club ride next year.  A house & motel rooms in Seney and houses near Trout lake (Ellis lodge).  It was decided to pick a location and date this summer.

Golf tournament�Jeff reported that member Jim & Dick Kohne will help him with golf outing that will be held with the hog roast on June 21st. 

Tom Gottschall reported he had new safety vest for the ditch clean-ups.

 JANUARY 20, 2008 MEETING MINUTES         

            The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by Vice President Ed Waldman.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the meeting held on December 9th were read and both were approved as read. 

          Club thanks everyone who donated any gifts for the Christmas drawing and for all the wonderful food the members brought.

The club welcomed Pam & Craig Riesen back into the club as members.

REPORTS GIVEN:

    Unfortunately, there was no snow at Houghton Lake and most went home early.  It was brought to the attention of the club some potential new members wanted to know about any future trips that the club might plan.  Jeff Snellenberger & Gene Leis volunteered to check into the possibilities of having a club ride next year and a new location.

    The ice was about 4� on the channels

    Tom Gottschall volunteered to put together a poker run if the lake and weather cooperated.

    Brad Fisher told the club members present about his experience with going thru the ice last year.  He also is a member of the St. Mary�s Fire Dept and was going to check on any safety videos he could bring to the next meeting.

    Tom  Gottschall informed the club the new Ditch cleanup sign had been installed.  It now reads Grand Cake Recreation Club.

    Dennis Stolzenburg reported that he had no new safety classes schedule. 

    Gene Leis informed snowmobilers about the new Sylvania Silver Star Ultra light bulb to enhance visibility at night while riding.  It definitely is brighter.

    It was decided since so many members would on the cruise next month that the election of officers would be at the April 13th meeting.  Tom Gottschall made the motion and Jeff Snellenberger 2nd the motion. 

    There is a strong interest in having another ATV poker run.  A committee will be set up at the next meeting to plan a poker run for the spring.

    Anyone interested there will be a Polar Plunge at the Moose on March 2nd.

    Jane has contacted the OSSA to send us membership forms to join the state membership and to get the magazine.  They do have a web site:  www.firstgearmedia.com/OSSA

    The Hog Roast will be held on June 21 and Jeff Snellenberger volunteered to spear-head the golf outing again.  Monies must be paid upfront to hold a team due to the last minute no-shows last year.

    Ed Waldman said he would barbeque chicken again at the corn roast on Aug 16th.  Gene Leis and Steve Zimmerman will again be charge of the Croquet Tournamnent.

 DECEMBER 9, 2007 MEETING MINUTES         

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the  meeting held on October 14th were read and both were approved as read. 

 

The Chili Cook was held on November 10th at Rich and Angie Leis�s home.  Everyone attending had a good time and enjoyed the chili and covered dishes brought by attending members.

 

$20 worth of OSSA raffel tickets were purchased by the club.  Any winnings will be raffeld by the club as a fund raiser.

 

Three new members were introduced to the club: Brad Fisher, Scott Neikamp and Jason Platner.

Rich Leis reported that Nancy Toms from the American Legion had contacted him in regards to needing help to deliver baskets to the needy.  Since it was too late this year it was decided to help next year in the deliveries.  The club was informed that Tom Gottschall donated $62 to Shirley�s Bars needy basket fundraiser this year.  Thanks Tom!

 

Following a short meeting, the annual Christmas exchange proceeded with 10 members winning prizes donated by the club and members.  Denny Liet's name was drawn for the club drawing.  He was not present so $10 will carry-over to the January meeting.

 

The meeting was then adjourned and the members present enjoyed a meal with ham furnished by the club and many great covered dishes brought in by the club members.

OCTOBER 14, 2007 MEETING MINUTES

          The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the last meeting held on September 9th were read and both were approved as read.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. President, Rich Leis gave a reported at this time there would be no ATV Poker Runs scheduled for this Fall.
  2. Liz Leis reported on the T-shirts & Sweatsirts she still had available and the shirts that she had for pick-up.  Since it was Liz�s Birthday she was presented with cards and a surprise gift that was one of a kind.
  3. Jane Snellenberger updated everyone on the Cruise plans for the March 2nd sailing and reminded everyone that they needed a passport to leave the US.  The final payment is due by December 12th.
  4. The calendar has been added on the web site for all upcoming events along with Birthdays and Anniversaries.  Anyone that has an entry to put on the calendar please contact Jane.
  5. The Chili Cook committee held a meeting and the following was decided.

a.       Cooking will start at Noon on Nov. 10th

b.      Food served will be chili & hotdogs and of course beverages will be provided.

c.       Chili will be served at 4:00 pm

d.      THINGS TO BRING

                                                               i.      Lawn chairs

                                                             ii.      Covered Dish---Snack or relish tray in the afternoon or dessert dish or dish to go with CHILI.

e.       Hill-Billy golf and Bean Bag games will be played.

f.        The November Meeting will be held at 6:00pm

g.       It was suggested to have name tags to get to know all the new members.  Liz Leis volunteered to bring name tags.

h.       A map to Rich & Angie Leis�s home will be included in the newsletter and on the web site.

  1. Tom Gottschall reported on the Stump Search.  Nearly 80 stumps have been marked and removed from the Lake.  Brian Miller had reports that 13 stumps had pieces of props in them and 1 stump had an entire prop.  Included on the team are:  Tom Gottschall, Tom Scheib, Carl Schroeder, Gary Schwieterman, Bill Mangen.  Special thanks to these guys for their efforts on improving the Lake �For Safe Recreation�!  The web site has pictures of the guys at work.

NEW BUSINESS

 

  1. Rick Ferguson reported that there would be a ride in the Wayne National Forrest on October 17th for anyone interested in riding.
  2. Dennis Stolzenburg will be doing an ATV safety class for the Girl Scouts On October 20th at 1:00pm.  Tom Gottschall and Tom Scheib will assist him.  Attending will be girl scouts from Coldwater, St. Henry, New Bremen, & Minster.  Pictures and a report will be on the web site.  (www.grandlakerec.org )     Good Job Dennis!
  3. Bay View Sun & Snow will have there Swap meet on Oct. 20 & 21 from 9-5.

Tom Gottschall received the renewal for the Ditch Clean-up.  He will complete the submission along with the name change to Grand Lake Recreation Club.

  1. Tom Woodward inquired about the Houghton Lake trip in January.  Judy Haley volunteered to call and get information on availability.  Everyone will have to make their own reservations.

         The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by incoming President Rich Leis.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the last meeting held on April 22nd were read and both were approved as read.  There were 61 members present.

THE FOLLOWING REPORTS WERE GIVEN:

            President, Rich Leis gave a report on the ATV poker run that was held last April 21st.

Jeff Snellenberger gave a report on the Golf Outing held in conjunction with the hog roast.  Both were successful for the club.  An ATV Poker Run was also discussed for this fall.  A date will be discussed at the October meeting.  President Rich Leis asked for members to think about fund raiser ideas for next year.

            Rick Ferguson gave a report on the Wayne National Forrest ATV ride held in July.

Jane Snellenberger updated everyone on the Cruise plans for the March 2nd sailing.

Tom Gottschall informed everyone about the Bayou Bash held on June 16th and how much fun was had by all attended and the entertainment for the evening.

Liz Leis gave a report on the new T-shirts availability and the shirts Sales that she had for pick-up.

Dennis Stolzenburg will again be doing an ATV safety class for the Girl Scouts.

Jane Snellenberger will be adding a calendar on the web site for all upcoming events along with Member birthdays and anniversary.  Anyone with info for the calendar or site, contact Jane.

APRIL 22, 2007 MEETING MINUTES

          The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Tom Gottschall.  The Treasurer�s report and the minutes from the last meeting held on March 11th, were read and both were approved as read.

THE FOLLOWING REPORTS WERE GIVEN:

            DITCH CLEAN UP: 

DITCH CLEAN-UP HELD ON MEETING DAYS WILL BEGIN AT NOON. 

NON-MEETING DAYS the DITCH CLEAN-UP will begin at 11:00 AM. 

Thanks to everyone who helped on the 22nd. 

Remaining dates for clean-up are JUNE 24-(11:00), AUGUST 26-(11:00), OCTOBER 14-(NOON).  Tom Gottschall reported the contract with the sign will be due in October of 2007 and at that time he will apply to have the name changed on the sign.

ATV POKER RUN.   RICH LEIS sent an update for the ATV Poker run which will be held on April 28th.  The starting host for this ATV run will begin at the Town Tavern in Chickasaw.   It will be run on the same format as the last poker run.   Signs were made by Rick Ferguson and will be put out to assist the riders.  A sign up sheet was set out for anyone wanting to help that day.

HOG ROAST will be held on June 9th at Bass Landing.  The club will furnish the baked beans and potato salad.  Everyone else should bring another covered dish.  (Bring a little extra to cover the additional non-members from the golf outing)  Rick Ferguson will bring the buns donated by Aunt Millie�s

JEFF SNELLENBERGER will be in charge of the Golf Outing to be held with the Hog Roast on June 9th.  Jeff reported almost all the spots were already taken.  The outing will be held at Arrow Head Golf Course.  The awards and door prizes will be given before we eat.  The PIG should be finished and ready to eat at 4:00pm.

             RICK FERGUSON updated everyone on the information regarding the ride in the Wayne National Forrest.  The date will be July 12-14th.  Nine (9) sites have been set back for our group.  Anyone interested should call and make their own reservations. CONTACT: 740-753-0500  (Mention Grand Lake Recreation or Rick Ferguson) to book your site.  The primitive sites are $19 and need a 25% down payment to reserve.  A Bread and Breakfast Lodge is also available at the same phone number.  We will be able to ride as a group for anyone unfamiliar with the trails or ride on your own.

            IT�S TIME TO BOOK YOUR CRUISE RESERVATIONS!  The sailing date has been set for March 2, 2008 thru March 9th, 2008 out of Galveston, TX on the Carnival Conquest.  ROOMS HAVE BEEN RESERVED FOR OUR GROUP.  To be included in the special group rate you must book by May 4th, 2007 with $250 down per person.  The contact person is AMBER PRESSLEY @ 800-668-6414 ext: 144. 

DENNIS STOLZENBURG conducted an ATV SAFETY COURSE for kids March 26th.  Over 50 children attended the event.  4 wheelers ranged in size from the smallest to the largest and were used in the safety course to teach the kids about safety and 4-wheelers.  Dennis gave a report on the events activities.   It was such a success that the girl scouts of Coldwater and the Celina Boy Scouts have approached him to do an event for them.  JOB WELL DONE DENNIS!

1ST ANNUAL BAYOU BASH will be held June 16th. 

The location will be behind the Island at the Big Chickasaw any time after 6:00pm.  Bring your favorite tunes and finger food.  We will tie the boats together so we can all visit.  I heard mention we may even have an empty boat for a dance floor.  Tom Scheib promised to entertain us with his banjo. 

CORN ROAST & CHICKEN BARB-B-QUE is set for August 25th.   PLEASE try and contact one of the officers to get a head count for the chicken.  Our new Vice President will be doing the Bar-b-que chickens along with the corn roast.  There will be a Croquet Tournament held during the afternoon.  It will be spearheaded by Steve (Zip) Zimmerman and Gene Leis.  It will be run by CRUD RULES???.  Registration forms will be included with this newsletter.  WE WILL EAT @ 5:00pm.  PLEASE BRING A COVERED DISH.

SEPTEMBER 9TH WILL BE OUR FIRST MEETING   A motion was made by Darlene Craig and 2nd by Ed Waldman to have our first meeting in September since we were a year round club.  Impromptu meetings will be held at the Hog Roast and at the Corn Roast.

The name drawn for the Club drawing was Gene & Liz Leis who were present to win the drawing of $10.  and the 50-50 drawing of $46 also went to Gene & Liz Leis.

          The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Tom Gottschall.  Treasurer�s report was given by  the treasurer, Tom Scheib.  The minutes from the last meeting were read by Secretary, Jane Snellenberger.  Both were approved.

 

REPORTS GIVEN:

 

            TOM GOTTSCHALL gave a report on the success of the Snowmobile & ATV Poker Run held on February 17th.  There were 119 entries and after pay out to the winners the club made $295.00.  The 50-50 drawing made $211and there was only about $20 turned in for expenses.

            RICK FERGUSON updated everyone on the information regarding the ride in the Wayne National Forrest.  He has contacted a Park Ranger but has not heard back from him.  A tentative date of July 12-14th has been set.  Peggy Gottschall suggested the women who were not riding all go on a shopping trip.

 

            JANE SNELLENBERGER gave an updated report on the Cruise being planned for sailing dates between February  24th and March 8th, 2008.  The final plans will be set by the next meeting. (April 22nd)

 

HOG ROAST will be held on June 9th at Bass Landing.  Due to the extra people from the Golf Outing,  Jane Snellenberger and Peggy Gottschall will bring the baked beans and potato salad.  Everyone else should bring another covered dish.

DENNIS STOLZENBURG will be conducting a safety course for kids on the last Monday of March (3-26-07).  The event will be held at the Holy Trinity church parking lot in Coldwater.  The Stolzenburg family were wearing shirts that they handcrafted themselves with the Grand Lake Rec logo.  LIZ LEIS will check into prices to have shirts and hats made.   

DITCH CLEAN-UP: April 22th, June 24th, August 26th and October 14th at 11:00 am.  The meeting place will again be at the Sportsman�s Club and refreshments will be available for anyone that helps.  The sign will be changed to read �Grand Lake Recreation Club� 

CORN ROAST & CHICKEN BARB-B-QUE is set for August 25th.  It was suggested that any members bringing guests to any of the functions send in an RSVP for them so we don�t run out of food.

FEBRUARY 11TH MEETING MINUTES

 

          The meeting of the Grand Lake Snow Dreamers held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Tom Gottschall.  Treasurer�s report was given by President Tom Gottschall in the absence of the treasurer, Tom Scheib.  The minutes from the last meeting were read by Secretary, Jane Snellenberger.  Both were approved.

 

REPORTS GIVEN:

 

            TOM GOTTSCHALL gave a report on the condition of the lake.  The lake now has a good 8in of ice.  Due to the many inquiries about a Poker Run, it was decided to have one next Saturday, Feb. 17th starting at BayView Pub. 

            RICH LEIS gave an update on the ATV Poker run.  The date will be April 28th , 2007 and it will start at the Town Tavern in Chickasaw.   It will be run on the same format as the last poker run.  He also would like to incorporate more activities making it more appealing to families.   A sign also was discussed to advertise the new club.   

            RICK FERGUSON updated everyone on the information regarding the ride in the Wayne National Forrest.  There are 2 campgrounds and a lodge.  �In the Woods� campground has close to 70 sites all with water and some with electric.  He has contacted a Park Ranger but has not heard back from him.  Anyone interested in this venture needs to contact Rick or an officer so we can get arrangements made.  Rick and Shelly will be on vacation the middle of June so we need to pick a feasible date.  A date will be set by the next meeting.

            JANE SNELLENBERGER gave a brief report on the Cruise being planned for sailing dates between February  24th and March 8th, 2008.  The proposed cruise will port out of Galveston, TX and will include stops at Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; & Cozumel, Mexico.  Rates will be available at the March meeting.  Anyone interested contact Jane.

 

            TRIP REPORTS: 

BOB BOLLENBACHER reported on the conditions at the Lakes of the North�Good Snow Conditions GENE PEASE reported that the conditions at Fife Lake hadn�t been too good but should be good by now. RODNEY RIDER reported his trip to the UP North of M-28 was great riding,  Plenty of snow.  South of M-28 was very marginal.

 

            ELECTION OF OFFICERS:  The March meeting is our Election of Officers meeting.  The positions that need to be filled are a Trustee and Vice President.

 

DITCH CLEAN-UP:  Tentative dates were set up:  April 29th, June 17th, August 25th and October ?.

 

NEW WEBSITE:   www.grandlakerec.org  Jane reported the new website is up and running.  If anyone has any suggestions for the site please contact her.

 

The name drawn for the Club drawing was new members Barb Barlage & Ed Waldman who were not present so the drawing at the next meeting will be $30.   The 50-50 drawing of $25 went to Rick Livingston.  Kari Stolzenburg  volunteered to bring food for the next meeting. 

 

The meeting was adjourned by President Tom Gottschall and the attending members enjoyed chili made by Gretchen Zimmerman.

JANUARY 21ST MEETING MINUTES

 

          The meeting of the Grand Lake Snow Dreamers held at the South Shore Sportsman�s Club, was brought to order by President Tom Gottschall.  Treasurer�s report was given by President Tom Gottschall in the absence of the treasurer, Tom Scheib.  The minutes from the last meeting were read by Secretary, Jane Snellenberger.  Both were approved.

 

New members were welcomed to the club, Barb Barlage & Ed Waldon; Cheryl Sheaks; John & Elaine (Toots) Sherrick; and Rick Livingston. 

 

          Flowers were sent and we wish the family of Mike (Chicken) Bertke our sympathies.  Chicken was a member and also has been a Trustee for the past 3 years. 

 

                President, Tom Gottschall, read the article that was submitted to the Franklin Twp newsletter.  Everyone agreed that we should also put it in the Lake Improvement News and submit an article to the OSSA magazine to promote the new club name change.  The new logo was approved by everyone along with the new Domain name for the new website.   www.grandlakerec.org.  It was suggested to create and print up flyers to pass out at the local establishments and to dealers.  Angie Leis informed the club that we could put a sign below the billboard at their former property on St Rte 127.

 

New ideas were discussed to add to the Hog Roast (June 9th) and the Corn Roast (August 25).  A golf outing will be added to the Hog Roast headed by Jeff Snellenberger and Ed Waldon will be grilling half chickens at the Corn Roast.  We also will incorporate a Croquet Tournament and bean bag tournament at the corn roast.  A By-U-Bash was discussed for a Pontoon tie-up behind the Big Chickasaw.  Dates were discussed but will be decided upon at a later date.

 

Also discussed was an ATV Ride In at the Wayne National Forrest.  Rick & Shelly Ferguson will bring more information and prices to the next meeting.  Rick has an ATV ride planned in Kentucky on Feb. 1st.  Anyone interested in going contact him. (937-596-6304)  Angie Leis informed the club that Rich would like to schedule another ATV Poker run on April 22nd. 

 

The name drawn for the Club drawing was new members John & Toots Sherrick who were not present so the drawing at the next meeting will be $20.   The 50-50 drawing of $23 went to Kari Stolzenburg.  A motion was made by Peggy Gottschall to have food at the meetings and it was seconded by Wayne Craig.  A limit of $50 was set and all voted YES to that!  Liz Leis and Gretchen Zimmerman volunteered to bring food for the next meeting.

 

The meeting was adjourned by President Tom Gottschall and the attending members enjoyed sandwiches and dip.
